Create a virtual event that integrates with Fitbit and Strava

April 9, 2020

We are happy to announce that our integrations with Fitbit and Strava are back up and running, after being under maintenance. These integrations help enable virtual fitness challenges.

There are a number of activities and milestones that you can challenge your supporters to do while still social distancing. For example, you can give them a target step-count for the day or encourage them to go on a 5 or 10k walk or run.

Here are some examples of virtual events that some of our clients are running at the moment (or have just run):

Your organisation can create your own virtual challenge within minutes using our campaign-builder Event Creator Vision. Of course, if you would like to create something more bespoke (like most of the examples above) then we can help with that too.

We have also created a new campaign in partnership with Good2Give that all charities on the platform have access to, it’s called ‘Fit From Home’. Corporates are encouraged to invite their staff to participate in a fitness challenge from home and fundraise for their favourite cause here.

HOW THE INTEGRATIONS WORK:

Your supporters can now easily connect their fundraising page to Fitbit and Strava and start sharing their fitness data with their network. This gives fundraisers another reason to engage with their fundraising page and to share it frequently – this is a free feature.

Fundraising pages now show an ‘Activity Tracker’ including stats on total: distance, steps, calories and time, as well as ‘Recent Activity’ which includes stats on individual activity as well as maps of activity. For more information on how to connect to fitness apps, click here

To schedule a call to discuss your virtual event, please contact Trisha at trisha@gofundraise.com

We’ll have some more updates about virtual events to share with you soon as well.

Thanks so much,
